Ok, so those of you who follow me on Twitter might realise that I am getting married this month, in just 29 days to be precise and also that I’m not a particularly wealthy person. For those of you that do not follow me on Twitter, well at least you know now.
Anyway, the reason for telling you that is that I have joined a competition being run by Radisson Blu to win 365 nights to spend at over 200 Radisson Blu hotels all over the world. All I had to do was to give my reason for wanting to win in 100 words or less; people can then vote for my entry and if at the end of the competition – just 23 days to go and I am currently last in the ratings – I am at number one, then I win the competition. It is that simple .
So, all I am asking is that you take the 10 seconds or so it takes to vote for my entry which you can find by clicking here and try to give me the chance to give my very special bride an amazing wedding gift. If you Tweet this post or pass my entry on in others ways it will be greatly appreciated as my bride really does deserve this for all her hard work as a teacher; she really makes a difference teaching in a really tough area and I would love to be able to explore the world with her in the next few years.
Also, you should enter the competition yourselves! All you have to is visit the website to enter ‘ the greatest holiday in the world‘ competition and you can then publicise your entry in any way you want.
As I mentioned earlier the prize is 365 nights to spend at over 200 Radission Blu hotels and you have 5 years in which to take them – so weekend breaks, holidays or single nights away would be sorted for the next 5 years. In addition to the main competition there are also Creativity Awards. – Every week the Radisson Blu Team will select up to 10 winners among the latest entries. Winners are selected based on humour, creativity and originality used to present their stories. Winners get a special badge on their profiles, more publicity and a special gift from Radission Blu.
So, as you can see I’m hardly going to win a creativity award which is why I need you to vote for me. As you can see, I am currently 7016 places away from where I want to be in 23 days time, only you kind readers can change this:

I’m sure you could have been more creative with the message here… but even so, with your help I could be number one, and I could surprise my bride on her wedding day with the most amazing gift. It is up to you. If you want to enter the competition yourself then all you need to be is either an EU citizen, or a citizen of Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland to participate to enter this competition. But remember, dear readers, anyone in the world can vote, so please do.
You can also vote for yourself or any candidate (or numbers of candidates) once every 24 hours. So why not make a note in your diaries to vote for me every day for the next 23 days? Anyway, enough begging, if you want to hear all this again without having to read then you might want to watch the youtube video.
Thanks for reading, blogging about the media will resume shortly…

Done,
But if you win I expect you to take me away on a nice bloggers break… somewhere where there are no newspapers.
Does your fiancée not know this blog exists? That’s pretty sneaky.
You’ve gone from 7016th to an incredible 100th! Now, let’s see if we can push you even higher…
The very best of luck, your wife to be sounds like she deserves it, and you certainly do for the important work – and it is important – that you do in taking on the tabloids.
Voted, you’re 93rd now!
Rawr, are you rawr from #dl-bar? If you’re not then this question won’t make any sense at all
Gave you my vote and your at # 76!
Thanks for all of your support, as mentioned above I have now made it to number 76! I’ll keep plugging away, but if anyone has any bright ideas about sharing this with a wider audience, then please post it here and I’ll give it a go.
Thanks all.
I posted a vote for you and no one else.
Is it possible for you to alter the wording of your entry?
It’s a European competition so, use your language skills.
@ Chris, sorry to disappoint, I have no idea what that is lol.
Voted, came across your blog searching for wedding comps! good luck! xx
10th! Let’s do this for everyone’s favourite tabloid incompetence blogger!
6th? Doing well…
The ‘one vote per day’ appears to be ‘one vote per day per browser you have installed’. So if you have two browsers installed you can vote more than once. Just saying
Today’s CAPTCHA was ‘murdoch’. Eerily appropriate.
